Cage Transmitted: Evening 1
Norte Maar for Collaborative Projects in the Arts, 83 Wyckoff Ave #1B, Brooklyn.
Launching the first of twelve transmitted projects will be a broadcast of John Cage delivering a lecture to students at Harpur College, Binghamton, NY on January 24, 1967. This event marks the first time the lecture has been heard since it was delivered exactly 45 years ago. A select group of choreographers and dancers will perform in the space as Cage speaks and will include dancers of TAKE Dance, Lynn Parkerson (Artistic Director of Brooklyn Ballet), Rachel Cohen of Racoco, Benn Rasmussen + Megan Madorin + Edward Rice of Ardent August, and Morgan McEwen of Gleich Dances, among others.

The seventh Annual Community Youth Showcase runs from 3:45 to 8pm behind the Marine Park Field House, Filmore Avenue and Marine Parkway.
Audiences will enjoy a wide range of young local talent plus an appearance by the Brooklyn Ballet Youth Ensemble and participants from the Ballet's Elevate program at PS 351. Performances are free and open to the public.

Caridad Martinez, Brooklyn Ballet’s School Director, and former principal dancer with the Cuban National Ballet, to host International Summer Dance Intensive
This intensive for international students age 10-18 includes faculty from the most recognized dance schools in the world including the Vaganova School and Cuban School of Ballet.
Faculty includes Ms. Martinez, Elena Kurnikova, Robert Hill, Fidel Garcia, Norma Garcia, Jennifer Archibald, Lorena Ramirez Moreno and Charlene “Chi-Chi” Smith.
The International Summer Dance Intensive follows an initial visit to the Dominican Republic by Ms. Martinez and Brooklyn Ballet students who were invited to perform The Nutcracker with Ballet Clasico Santiago in December '07. Classes take place at the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center.
