Join Brooklyn Ballet for free, 30-minute sample classes taught by our world-class faculty in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, and improvisation.
Students ages 3+ of all levels and abilities are welcome!
Capezio will also be at the studio from 12-3pm selling dance clothes and shoes.

Brooklyn Commons
Brooklyn Ballet’s signature style fuses ballet and street dance. Pop up duet, solos, and trios choreographed by Audrey Borst, Michael Fields, Bobby Major, Aoi Ohno, Lynn Parkerson, and Ladell Thomas will be performed by Brooklyn Ballet’s stellar dancers.

Brooklyn Ballet's Take Ballet to the Streets! performances feature repertory by Lynn Parkerson and her collaborators, and poetry by Jasmine Mans, performing live. The performances showcase multidisciplinary artists working in ballet, hip hop, voguing, middle eastern dance and more.

LAUNCH OF THE 1619 PROJECT: A NEW ORIGIN STORY
CO-PRESENTED BY BAM, GREENLIGHT BOOKSTORE, AND THE LIT. BAR
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones comes to BAM to celebrate the book launch of The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story. She’ll be joined in conversation by award-winning author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates and the program will feature a reading by poet Jasmine Mans and a performance by Brooklyn Ballet.
The expansion of the award-winning essay series from The New York Times Magazine is a groundbreaking work of journalism that reframes our understanding of American history by placing slavery and its continuing legacy at the center of our national narrative. With the publication date set for a day later, attendees will be some of the first to receive their copies of this innovative work that weaves together essays, poems, and works of fiction.
