Councilman Lew Fidler renews $18,500 Grant for Brooklyn Ballet’s “Elevate” in 6 Public Schools

Brooklyn Ballet’s “Elevate” an in-school dance program begins its fifth year in District 46 through the generosity of Councilman Lew Fidler.

This year 10 children from the district have been awarded scholarships to Brooklyn Ballet and three children, Jacintha Halaby, Naazir and Shaakir Muhammad trained at Joffrey’s Summer Intensive on full scholarship. Our program includes an annual “Take Ballet to the Streets” performance in Marine Park where last June over 150 students from neighborhoods across the district performed for over 500 audience members.
