Elevate Public School Performances
A talented group of professional dancers and instructors will fan out across Brooklyn, offering a tantalizing introductory look at the art of ballet to kick off a six-week residency in several lucky public schools. Hundreds of kids will get the chance to see a demonstration of ballet before learning the basics themselves. For more information, see our Community page.
Brooklyn Ballet Nominated for a Bessie Award in Visual Design
Costume Designer Patricia Forelle was nominated for a prestigious Bessie Award for her work designing costumes for Brooklyn Ballet's Debut Home Season in March 2011. The awards ceremony was hosted by Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth and recognized the outstanding work of New York's dance and performance luminaries.
American Ballet Theatre Partners with Brooklyn Ballet
American Ballet Theatre's JKO School and Brooklyn Ballet School will forge a new partnership this year based on Brooklyn Ballet's track record of recruiting talented students through its Elevate program and providing these students with pre-professional training. Our Elevate students have gone on to study and dance with major dance institutions.
