Adult Ballet Summer Intensive: August 21-23 with Aoi Ohno | Click here to register!
Take your dance training to the next level by immersing yourself in the beauty and artistry of classical ballet within an inclusive and supportive environment. Join Brooklyn Ballet’s Adult Ballet Summer Intensive - a fun and inspiring 3-day workshop for beginner to advanced beginner dancers (ages 18+). The intensive includes daily classes in Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Stretch and Strength, Ballet Variations, and Ballet History & Lecture Demonstration. The intensive culminates in an informal, in-studio student showcase for friends and family. Dancers are encouraged, but not required, to perform.
Class Levels
Brooklyn Ballet proudly offers recreational, pre-professional, and professional adult ballet classes, based on classical ballet technique, traditional French terminology, and established pedagogy. All classes are led by our esteemed faculty and take place in person at our studio in the heart of downtown Brooklyn. We do not offer "barre method" or "ballet core" classes.
Adult Ballet Fundamental (absolute beginner/beginner) is for absolute beginner and beginner students who have no prior experience or students who want to start from the fundamental beginnings of classical ballet. Most students take Adult Ballet Fundamental for two (2) consecutive semesters before joining Adult Ballet.
Adult Ballet (beginner/advanced beginner) is for beginner/advanced beginner students with prior experience as an adult or teenager.
Adult Neo Classical Ballet (intermediate and advanced/professional) is for intermediate and advanced/professional students who are seeking an engaging, inspiring, and artistic challenge. Led by Eric Holzworth and accompanied to orchestral music, Adult Neo Classical Ballet explores the technique, style, and artistry of acclaimed choreographer, George Balanchine.
Dress Code
There is no dress code for adult students. We recommend comfortable clothes that you can move in. Ballet slippers are recommended, but not required.
We don't sell ballet slippers or dance apparel at the studio. We recommend Capezio Dancewear. Use the Capezio in-store and online discount code 1BB and save 10%!
Registration & Refund Policy
All students must create an account and register through Sawyer, our online platform. Monthly payment plans are available upon registration.
All sales are final and non-refundable. Class credit may be considered upon request.

“I was a professional dancer and can highly recommend Brooklyn Ballet for kids who want to improve their technique and for adults who want to take ballet to stay in shape. The teachers are excellent.”
