Toni Mora

Toni Mora (he/him) is a composer, pianist, and artist from Mallorca, Spain, currently based in Brooklyn.

Known for his ability to blend classical and contemporary musical influences, Toni’s work explores the intersection of music, storytelling, and emotion. His debut album, Sol (2021), showcases his dual talents as a composer and improviser.

His interdisciplinary approach as a composer has included meaningful collaborations with a range of creators, blending music with various performing arts to craft cohesive narratives.

In 2021 he worked closely with dancer and choreographer Iván Delgado, who commissioned him to create the music for his piece Dos y Punto, premiered at the International Dance Gala Homenatge a la Dansa hosted by Factoria Cultural de Terrassa (LaFACT) in Barcelona It is also relevant his current work with Colombian dancer Angélica Barbosa which led to Cruzando Esquinas, a piece premiered at Lincoln Center as part of The New School's 'Shelf Life: New Works, Made from the Archive' cycle. The work delves into themes of nostalgia, immigration, and courage, brought to life through the synergy of sound and movement, rooted in the shared Hispanic heritage between dancer and composer. In the spring of 2025, his partnership with award-winning choreographer Yang Sun will debut at the prestigious West Fest Dance Festival in NYC, featuring an experimental score that pushes the boundaries of form, texture, and electronics.

In addition to his work in dance, Toni has collaborated with Spanish actor Pep Tosar on the jazz-flamenco-poetry fusion show Sonetos del Amor Oscuro and serves as the musical director for Madrid’s La Breve Pausa theater company, where his music has been featured in productions such as Roland Schimmelpfennig’s The Golden Dragon and Gao Xingjian’s The Other Shore.

Toni is currently preparing to release his second solo album, On vas, a deeply personal collection of works reflecting his journey as a composer and storyteller.

He is also pursuing a master’s degree at The New School's College of Performing Arts in NYC.
